Wooo! So I'm all packed and pretty much ready to go...had to remove my towel to make room for a pair of Kurt Geigers (just because I'm taking a backback does not mean I have to lower all standards...right?!)
So far so good, although I did have a small panic attack earlier - Andrew had kindly set up his wireless printer for me to print out essentials (boarding pass, flight information, the address of my first hostel etc...nothing like leaving it until the 11th hour) BUT he failed to leave enough paper/tell me where we keep the paper. After what felt like hours of scouring the house, I located the only decent A4 paper I could find...and my boarding pass has been printed on the back of my DLA employment contract. Result.
With 2 hours to go until I need to leave the house, I have abandoned any attempts to get out today and will get currency, travel journal, camera memory card, sun cream and contact lens solution at the airport. In the meantime I am sat in my pants watching 'Silk' and waiting for my fake tan to dry.
On that mental image it's adios for now - next update will be from the other side of the world! x
KGs should always be a backpack staple! Who needs towels anyway, it's gonna be 100 degrees....
ReplyDeleteSorry I failed to live up to my promise of calling before you left though you clearly had far more pressing things to be getting on with anyway (it's annoying me how she wins EVERY case now....)
Anyway hope you arrive safely and have actually spoken to someone haha.
Hasta la vista.
Have spoken to lots of people, AND they have given me a towel (the hostel, not the people!) result. Apparently no-one wears heels here though (boots, flats or wedges) and so I´m not even sure how much occassion to wear them I´ll have...x
